Real Madrid's winger Extends Apology to Los Blancos Devotees

The forward has netted five strikes in ten Spanish league matches during the current campaign.

The Madrid giants winger Vinicius Jr has expressed regret to supporters for his conduct when taken off in Sunday's intense match against Barcelona victory.

He was substituted in the 72nd min and showed his disappointment by going straight down the tunnel.

Vinicius eventually reappeared to the dugout and, after his club's 2-1 victory, sought to engage Barça's youngster Yamal during contentious after the game scenes.

"Now I want to express regret to all the Real Madrid fans for my reaction when I was replaced in the derby," Vinicius posted on social media.

"In the same way as I have already done during today's practice, I wish to express regret anew to my teammates, the club, and the leadership.

"Sometimes emotion overcomes me because I constantly desire to triumph and support my side. My winning mentality stems from the passion I feel for this club and everything it represents."

He moved to the Spanish capital from Flamengo in 2018 for a significant fee and has accumulated over a century of strikes in 335 appearances.

But his future in the Spanish capital is unclear with reports in recent months stating that Los Blancos would contemplate permitting the young star leave if they were to receive a good proposal.

When he was replaced on Sunday, broadcast footage from coverage provider the platform picked him up saying: "It's always me! I'm leaving the team! It's wiser if I depart, I'm leaving."

In his new message on social media, the athlete commented: "I vow to keep battling constantly for the welfare of Real Madrid, as I have done since the initial arrival."
