Vinted Members Share Displeasure Regarding Size Updates
Members of the platform have expressed outrage after an update resulted in items being listed as the wrong size.
The second-hand shopping app has updated its sizing categories for women's and children's clothes but did not contact all users about the change.
Online Platforms Reaction
Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show a modified sizing category than originally posted because of the remapping.
Vinted explained the updated approach better aligns with similar services.
The platform has recommended to examine their items and adjust the sizing manually when needed, resulting in member annoyance.
Size Classification Modifications
Previously, the measurements included one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10.
The revised method features an alphabetical indicator and numerical range like S/UK 8-10.
In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - such as a large size was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.
Member Accounts
Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".
"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.
A different member, located in Scotland, said garments she listed with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as size 20–22.
"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they will likely be quite upset," she explained.
Required Changes
Another shopper, located in England, said she had been left angered by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products".
"This situation is especially annoying, since I have chronic health issues and platform income has been essential after experiencing income reduction," she explained.
Marketplace Information
The platform boasts over 100 million members, including 18 million in the UK.
It has emerged as a preferred choice to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.
This is not the initial instance when a surprising modification to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, Vinted reversed a change regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
